Radicals and Royalists

I wrote that recently that Kevin McKenna, a well known Scottish journalist, seems to have morphed into nationalist cum SNP supporter these days having moved on from his Old Labour roots.   

But the Private Eye, the UK's best and only fortnightly satirical magazine, has come along to burst my bubble and has some fun at Kevin's expense by bringing the following revelation to wider public attention.

JUST FANCY THAT!

"There are more than a few reasons why I shall be celebrating Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's diamond jubilee this holiday weekend.....One of the most memorable events in my life occurred a few years back when I had the privilege of escorting her around the newspaper for which I then worked.....I had admired her for years, but my affection, of necessity, had to remain largely secret owing to the anti-monarchical tendencies of most of my friends and associates."

Now I read somewhere recently that Kevin used to work for The Daily Mail which is right at the heart of the British establishment last time I looked.

So will the real Kevin McKenna please stand up because I have no idea what he's talking about unless, of course, he's trying to be all things to all people.
