Do As I Say....



President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has stepped into the row about the slaying of Cecil the Lion by an American dentist by condemning the west and wealthy "vandals" who commit such acts.

 Now I agree with the President, but only up to a point because this 91-year old, one-party state dictator celebrated his recent birthday rather lavishly with the slaughter of a whole array of wild animals including a baby elephant, two buffalos, two sables, five impalas, a lion and a crocodile.

 Apparently the lion and the crocodile were not eaten but stuffed for display which doesn't make a whole lot of difference if you ask me, since that was the fate intended for poor old Cecil the Lion as well, of course.

 So it just goes to show that there's no fool like and old fool and that African dictators have few moral lessons to share with the west.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
