North Lanarkshire Update



The GMB is holding a series of meetings next week (18th and 19th June) to explain how the union has managed to mishandle the equal pay claims of several hundred  members against North Lanarkshire Council.

 Now I said that I would post some questions that GMB members might like to ask at these meetings in order to get to the bottom of what exactly has been going on.

 I'll do so in the next few days, but if GMB members have any suggestions of their own that they want to share, drop me a note (in confidence of course) and I'll put the best ones on the blog site in the next couple of days.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
