FoI Request

Here's another FoI request to North Lanarkshire regarding the pay arrangements of traditional male Council jobs and as I've said many times before the argument over equal pay has never about the men being paid too much, but about the women being paid too little.

The introduction of a new job evaluation scheme and the pay arrangements which follow is a process that should have the support and confidence of the workforce, but that can only happen if things are handled in an open and transparent manner.

If you ask me the Council has a duty to put the facts on the table, so that people can see what has been happening for themselves.

Gavin Whitefield
Chief Executive
North Lanarkshire Council

Dear Mr Whitefield

FOISA Request

I would like to make the following request under the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002.

Please confirm that the following jobs had their former bonus earnings taken into account when they were moved onto the Council's new pay scales after job evaluation in 2006?

a) Road Sweeper
b) Refuse Collector
c) Refuse Driver
d) Gardener 1
e) Gardener 2
f) Gardener 3
g) Gardener 4
h) Gravedigger
i) Driver 1
j) Driver 2
k) Labourer

Please confirm the percentage of basic pay (e.g. 60%) that former bonus earnings were worth for each job category a) to k) at the time this pay assimilation process took place?

Please confirm the hourly rate of pay for these job categories a) to k) as at 1 January 2014

I look forward to your reply and would be grateful if you could respond to me by e-mail to: markirvine@compuserve.com

Kind regards

Mark Irvine
