Surplus to Requirements

The Prime Minister, David Cameron, is apparently coming under pressure to rewrite the rules of the 2015 general election if Scotland votes Yes in the September 2014 independence referendum.

"Now how could anyone possibly object to that?" - I ask myself.
Because if Scotland does vote to become an independent country, I think it would be outrageous if we went on to elect MPs who would then influence the make-up of a new Government to represent the rest of the UK from 2015 onwards.
To my mind that would be completely undemocratic - the political equivalent of having your cake and eating it at the same time.
If you ask me, the only honest political position to hold would be that any Scottish MPs elected in the 2015 general election would play a very limited 'wind down' role for a short period of time.
After which they would become redundant along with all of the ridiculous and overpaid boobies in the House of Lords.
