Impressive Wee Boat


North Korea's latest 'Dear Leader' - Kim Jong-un - visited troops near his country's border with South Korea the other day - but having viewed the video evidence I think we can all continue to sleep soundly in our beds.

Because no matter how crazy the leaders of North Korea are - I have to say that the sight of  Kim Jong-un on his 'impressive wee boat' just makes me burst out laughing - as opposed to hiding under the duvet in terror.

Now that's not to say that the world doesn't have a real problem with this deranged despot - because his hold on the North Korean people appears to genuine - even if it does look a weird cross between 'Beatlemania' and hordes of 'I'm a Belieber' fans.

The reason for caution is that not that long ago the Japanese people had an all powerful  Emperor (Emperoro Hirohito) - who believed that he was a God and most of the Japanese people believed he was a God as well.

Which meant they were prepared to do terrible things in his name - including launching a muderous war on their neighbours in the Far East, attacking America and Pearl Harbour, torturing their prisoners to death and unleashing the first modern-day suicide killers - the infamous Kamikaze pilots .

So we should be on our guard, but without overeacting - if you know what I mean.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
