More Kind Words


Another reader from Clackmannanshire has been in touch - with a few kind words to say about the successful conclusion of his equal pay claim.

I'm just glad that Clackmannanshire Council finally came to its senses - because dragging things out was not just unreasonable - but a terrible waste of public money.

Janitors are of course one of the male dominated groups of council workers - who were given completely duff advice by their trade unions - who told such members that they could not mount a successful equal pay claim.

Well the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as the say - and here's just the latest example.

I write to thank you for the years of hard work and effort that you and Action 4 Equality Scotland put in to bring to a conclusion the janitors' equal pay claims.

Keep up the good work and I wish you a Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
