Christmas Cheer

Here are some more kind words from a regular reader in Clackmannanshire.

I can honestly say that there's no better feeling than to see people get what is rightly theirs - especially at this time of year.

All I can say is 'job done' and compliments of the season - of course - to everyone in sunny Clackmannanshire.

On behalf of most of Janitors and myself who have recently been offered payments from Clacks Council for the back money we were due over Equal Pay.

I would like to say thanks for all the hard work and effort by yourself and the team at Fox Cross for doing a great job Mark.


Its a shame that it took such a long time for the authority to accept their fault and dragging this out at a cost of thousands to the council taxpayers.

However I'm sure it's easy to argue when your legal costs are getting paid for by someone else, that aside.

Mark once again thanks and I'm sure you know the settlement comes at what is a difficult time for many low paid workers and is greatly appreciated.

Have a great a great Christmas and all the best for 2012 Mark - please pass this on to the people at Action 4 Equality Scotland and Fox Cross Solicitors.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
