Defending the Indefensible

A number of readers have already contacted the leader of Edinburgh City Council - Councillor Jenny Dawe - over the recent decision in the Court of Session.

See previous posts dated 15 and 16 November 2011.

Without going into details or mentioning any names - people are asking some rather obvious but very reasonable questions:

1 How long can Edinburgh City Council go on defending the indefensible?

2 How much public money has been wasted on pursuing this case in the courts?

3 Surely the City Council is not going to appeal - given the unanimous decision of three Scottish law lords in the Court of Session?

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
