K is for Klutz

If P is for Putin - then K is for Klutz.

Klutz in the sense of Ken Livingstone - who is attempting to become Mayor of London for the third time.

Now I find this all a bit strange- because Ken has already been Mayor for two four year terms - before he was soundly beaten by Boris Johnson in 2008.

But instead of the Labour party finding a new candidate - a woman or someone from an ethnic minority background - all Labour has done is to come up with yet another 50-something or even 60-something white male.

Which is hard to believe in a party that keeps on banging on about the need for greater diversity - and fairness in public life.

So if Ken gets elected - presumably he will be following the same crazy shift pattern as Vladimir Putin - eight years on, then four years off - followed by another eight years at the helm again.

The answer is of course that politicians - all politicians are power mad - they'll do anything (just about) to get elected and anything to stay in office.

Instead of doing the decent thing - and making way for the next generation.

I find it hard to believe that out of all the Labour party members in London - there is not another candidate who can challenge the present incumbent - Boris Johnson.

I find it even harder to believe that someone from Ken Livingstone's political background - can justify this attempt to try and monopolise Labour's political ambitions in London - for more than twenty years.

To my mind it's more about vanity than politics - which is why K stands for for Klutz - when it comes to Labour, London - and the next London Mayor.
