Foxes, Rats and Kittens
Liberal Democrat MP - John Hemming - has to be love rat of the week - for the part he played in having his wife convicted of burglary - after stealing a kitten from his lover's home.
John Hemming has been having an affair with his parliamentary assistant for years - which his wife has known about for a long time.
But she decided unwisely not to throw the old hound dog out on his ear - and chose instead to stay married to him 'for the sake of the kids'.
In any event the last straw came recently when the MP announced he was finally leaving his long-suffering wife - Christine - having had a 'love-child' in 2007 by his parliamentary assistant - Emily Fox.
Ms Fox is employed on the public payroll of course.
The happy news caused the said wife - Christine Hemming - to be less than rational which is understandable - whereupon she entered the said lover's house without permission - and cat-burgled the four-year old love child's kitten.
No other damage was done but the gallant MP - John Hemming - and his lover - Emily Fox - insisted on pressing charges against the 'wronged' wife - who has since been found guilty of burglary and will end up with a serious criminal record.
Meantime the kitten has gone missing - no one knows where it is - and Christine Hemming denies any memory of taking it in the first place.
So whatever else is true - she's not much of a criminal if she hasn't even managed to hang on to her ill-gotten gains - which goes by the name of Beauty by the way.
If the voters of Birmingham Yardley have any sense - they'll sling their MP out on his ear at the earliest opportunity.
Because that's exactly what his wife should have done with him - a long, long time ago - and saved everyone a lot of trouble.
