Double-Barrelled Scotland

Scotland is clinging on to a faint hope that the national football team will manage to qualify for Euro 2012  - at the last gasp - thanks to a goal against Liechtenstein from our double-barrelled striker - Craig Mackail-Smith.

A player that few fans had even heard about before the match - which Scotland won (0-1) with the only goal of the game.

So Scotland now travel to Spain - and if we can beat the world champions on their home turf in Alicante - we'll go into the play-offs with a chance of reaching Euro 2012 after all - though it's a very tall order.

But where there's life there's hope as they say - and as the young Scotland striker - Craig Mackail-Smith - demonstrated in his first international match.

Lithuania play the Czech Republic on the same night (in Lithuania) - and if the Lithuanians win Scotland will also go through to the finals - whatever the outcome in Spain.

Promises to be another nail biting night on Tuesday.

So fingers crossed.
